JANUARY 2010 NEWSLETTER: Available Here

Welcome Friends and Visitors!
The Micromounters of New England was organized on November 8, 1966 for the purpose of promoting the study of minerals that require a microscope.

We encourage young people to join our club, we offer a discounted rate for youth memberships. We welcome non-members to visit our monthly meetings.

As the name implies, we are unique, different from other mineral clubs, and try to emphasize this difference. Most of, but not all of, our members already have a basic knowledge of minerals and usually are members of one or more unspecialized mineral clubs. We try to restrict our programs, publish articles, and notices of other events to items relating to micromounting and to localities in or adjacent to New England.

We are proud members of:

Please see our Articles, Links, Photos and Members sections for more info.

Members benefits are many! Our giveaway tables are legendary! Every meeting we have a car load of micro material free to all who attend. Many of our members can ID your unknowns and answer of your questions! We do have occasional field trips and can also point you in the right direction for your personal field collecting. Club newsletters are sent out 8 times per year. Newsletters are packed with articles and event notices. See our archives in the member area. Club equipment is available to all members on a first come first served basis for month-long terms. In May, members have the opportunity to hear a prominent speaker on a topic of value to micromounters, and may purchase good specimens at bargain prices. We try to keep dues and other expenses to a minimum in order that everyone may participate. See Thoughts on Micromounting by Pat Barker.

The 2009 ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM was on Saturday, May 16,

Join us for the 2010 Symposium on Saturday, May 15, 2010 with our guest speaker, to be announced. Thank you to the dealers who donated to the 2008 and 2009 Symposium silent auction.
